St. Patrick Town Extension
This investigation was geared toward identifying the existing subsoil conditions at the proposed site, and to determine bearing capacity of each stratum to refusal or 15m below the surface which ever comes first. To identify the geologic conditions and highlight any significant phenomenon which would significantly affect the design of the foundation. The investigation will also identify and classify the soil type and its physical properties in order for all relevant factors to be taken into account in the design of the foundation.
The investigation was carried out in two phases. The first phase represented twenty eight (28) boring which would be in the area along the seafront proposed for the development of the hotel area. The second phase would comprise of the final fifteen (15) boring as set out by Sogecoa Caribbean Ltd to cover other structures such as dock yard and other buildings.

Geotechnical Investigation into the subsoil to a depth of 10m or refusal. An evaluation of each layer’s bearing capacity, and the reporting of any significant factors which will influence the design of the foundation of the building.
Subsurface investigation of on-shore and the near shore area, which would be reclaimed and a yachting berths constructed for small to mid sized yachts. This was to confirm a previous investigation carried out on a wider area. The investigation main aim was to determine the bearing capacity of each stratum so that end point resistance for piling could be established.
The investigation was geared to identify and classify the soil type and its physical properties in order for all relevant factors to be taken into account in the design of the foundation for a six storied building. Fieldwork geared toward obtaining the ultimate bearing capacity representative samples of the subsoil with necessary in-situ parameters. Laboratory testing on soil samples to enable proper classification of soil to provide additional subsoil parameters.
The power company was expanding its facilities at a new location. A geologic and geotechnical investigation was carried out to assess engineering concerns.
